Wear Data

500-Mile Controlled Wear Test

Both tires tested on identical bikes, same rider, same route mix (60% pavement, 30% packed gravel, 10% sand), over 500 miles. Tread depth measured with digital calipers at 0, 250, and 500 miles.

Tread Depth Remaining at 500 Miles
HEB Allscape
2.8mm
Started at 3.2mm → 2.8mm (12.5% wear)
HEB Viperess
2.3mm
Started at 2.6mm → 2.3mm (11.5% wear)
The tradeoff is real: Allscape's softer 65A compound grips better on loose surfaces but wears slightly faster by percentage. Viperess's harder 70A compound rolls more efficiently and wears slower — but starts with less tread depth. Net result: both tires are projected to outlast stock tires by 2–3x. We're still running a 1,000-mile data set. When it's ready, you'll get it first.
Testing methodology note: These are single-rider tests on controlled routes, not lab simulations. Real-world results will vary with rider weight, terrain, tire pressure, and climate. All numbers are caliper-verified and we'll disclose any estimation or rounding. If you run your own mileage test and want to compare data, reply to the email — we read every one.

Decision Guide

Which Tire Is Right for Your Ride?

Neither tire is "better" — it depends on your terrain, riding style, and what you're optimizing for. Here's the honest breakdown.

Choose Allscape If You…
→ Ride mixed terrain (gravel, trails, greenways + pavement)
→ Live in thorn-heavy areas (FL, AZ, TX desert terrain)
→ Prioritize puncture protection above everything
→ Ride in sand, loose dirt, or wet conditions regularly
→ Want one tire that handles everything and never think about it
→ Ride with a partner and need peace of mind on long routes
Choose Viperess If You…
→ Ride 80%+ pavement (commuting, neighborhood, boardwalk)
→ Want a faster, quieter roll on smooth surfaces
→ Care about weight savings (160g per tire = 320g per set)
→ Build for speed and efficiency on a performance e-bike
→ Want a street-season tire to swap with Allscapes in spring
→ Ride a Sur-Ron or Grizzly and want a street-optimized feel
Two-set strategy: A few riders we know run Allscapes in spring/summer (thorn season) and swap to Viperess for fall/winter street riding. If you've got the storage, having both lets you tune the bike to the season. The swap takes about 30–40 minutes per wheel with basic tools.

💰 Why bundle? Buying the tire + tube + sealant together saves money compared to buying each separately, and ensures you've got the right tube spec for the tire. Most flats happen because of mismatched tube sizes — our bundles take the guesswork out.

Individual tires, tubes, and sealant also sold separately.
